Hello World

While pregnant I did my best to prepare for the birth of my baby. Shopping for his needs , reading to stay informed, and resting as much as possible.

Truthfully nothing could have prepared me mentally or physically for what my body and mind were about to go through.

You see nothing went as expected. My original due date was October 24, 2021. I planned to work up until I went into labour but due to the diagnosis of pre-eclampsia , I was placed on bedrest while only 30 weeks pregnant.

Bedrest helped some, but as time went on my pressure continued to increase and I was scheduled for induction on September 29th.

Well my baby decided that even that date wasn’t soon enough. I woke up around 4 am on September 27th uncomfortable in the strangest way and with my blood pressure through the roof. I was scheduled for an appointment with my OB for 8 am and when I arrived not only had my blood pressure increased but I was having contractions! I was time to head to the hospital!

The problem with this was I wasn’t dilated AT ALL! I was given Misoprostol and had a balloon catheter overnight to assist with dilating. The next morning, my nurse broke my water and I was given Pitocin to speed things up.

Eight hours later on September 28, 2021 at 2:49 pm my son, was born.

I laboured with my son for twenty four hours and two minutes. While that seems like the end of a wonderful story, it is only the beginning.

I have shared him on my social media but allow me to formally introduce my happy and blessed baby boy ,
